I love how Pomni connected with Gummigoo first. Ragatha tries so hard but the cheery approach isnât exactly what Pomni needs, like Gummigoo just died(?) and her response is âyou triedâ before calling him an "NPC that could be reused."
She's really trying to get Pomni through the worst of things ASAP but failing understandably. But Gummi? The guy going through an existential crisis? Those real emotions she relates to really hits her empathy which allows her to open up to him.
Raw feelings work to open Pomni up at the end during the funeral too; everyone expresses grief over Kaufmo's passing and Pomni is finally able to really see everyone is kindred souls stuck in the same hell.
Like with Gummigoo, they're all in the same boat. Together.
