Clones were really tragic if you think about it. They were made and bred in labs for one purpose: to fight. Because they were clones, they even had shortened lifespans and were often seen as simply "Property" or "Military Equipment". Seen as mere numbers or droids by some Jedi generals, they were sent to die in droves. Seeing as this guy actually felt bad for killing the Jedi and had some level of respect for them, he probably had a good Jedi as a commander.
