Our mulberry graft is still hanging on, but it’s small compared to the vigorous rootstock that’s taken over! Surprisingly, the rootstock’s fruit is delicious, and we didn’t expect it to be so flavorful. Now we’re at a crossroads: should we prune the rootstock back to let the graft thrive, or embrace the rootstock and maybe even layer it into a few new trees?

O Jane a raspberry bush and the fruit isn’t as red as what you get in the store but a darker almost plum colour and the taste was different. You saying about rootstock has me wondering.
