For anyone confused why hyperbeam would get the +2 attack boost from swords dance; from gens 1 through 3 physical and special attacks were based on the 17 typings. Normal was considered a physical type so every damaging normal type move including hyperbeam was off of a pokemons attack stat and not either its special or special attack stat.

Used a Kingler with SD, Hyperbeam, Bodyslam and Crabhammer in my Gen 1 walktrough. It destroyed my enemies...

It's worth mentioning that kingler can only sd twice before maxing out it's attack because the max attact you can have is 999

I remember using the rental Pokemon back in the 1st Stadium. Krabby with Swords Dance was too strong.

They made it high crit so
He could use crabhammer in gen 1 and not surf.due to the low SPA. Gen 1 had a lot of fun ways to incentivize you to play certain ways.

Slight mistake in the video editing : kingler wouldn't be able to paralyze Snorlax because in gen1 normal types are immune to body slam paralysis š¤
