Could you elaborate more on how the AH64 Apache would be used for insertion?
As far as I understand, there is only one “passenger” - the co-pilot.
Under what circumstances would it be warranted to do this?
Frankly, it seems inefficient.

The Apache is NOT an insertion/evacuation chopper. It has absolutely zero room for passengers. It is a combat vehicle ONLY. Air attack is its only role. As far as I am aware, the only two choppers used for this mission are the Blackhawk and the CH47 Chinook.

Helicopter insertion can be done in many positions though missionary and cowgirl is the most ergonomic. The rotation can be either clockwise or anti clockwise. Whatever the chosen method, adequate amount of lube is necessary as rotational friction as well as longitudinal should be expected
