I was lucky and it was my turn to drive on the day that we drove that section of highway. We drove from Sydney to Perth in a 1962 pink Holden that one of the guys picked up at an auction for $500 back in 1985. What a blast.

Me and my husband live talking the Blue Mountains tourist drive to Kanangra Boyd National Park . The narrow road winds around the sandstone cliffs but you are amongst canyons and gorges. Spectacular but scary ! I haven’t done the big lap yet and hopefully one day and thank you for letting us know the 5 best drives in Australia .
