Ive done HOA jobs, been "banned" came back. They tried to take it to court but had nothing to really stand on. I work for the homeowner not the HOA.

One of the many reasons why I told our realtors that an HOA was an absolute dealbreaker when I was house shopping.

The HOA cannot ban you personally. You have no signed agreement or contract with the HOA and there for the HOA has no power over you or your business. If they attempted to tell the HOA community that they couldn't use you, you might even have a law suit potentially against the HOA.
I would seek counsel to be 100% sure but this is my best understanding as a non lawyer and having had deal with HOA's personally.

The worse thing about HoAs is that actually cause houses to sell for LESS than houses outside of a HoA. Having a hoa can instantly knock 20% off how much it’s worth.

If that person is having issues finding a stain color the HOA will approve, they’ll likely deny any of your future customers options as well. They would probably make a rule banning it after a few people get denied too.

I would never join a HOA neighborhood. If it's my property, I should be allowed to do whatever I want with it. I should not need permission from a bunch of Karen's. HOA is another fancy word for dictatorship.

HOA's are constitutionally illegal. If you own the property, no one including the government can force you to sign away your rights to rule your own property that you own. The only times that can be imposed on you are ones that would effect the safety of your neighbors like dumping toxic chemicals into the ground water. An HOA can not tell you our your hired company what color to paint your property. It's your property not anyone else's. They can't fine you constitutionally it force you to sign that right over to them in order to purchase that property cause it isn't thier property. It's just bullying.
