I agree that the room gets a "vote" on sound quality. A big vote. But it's a subtractive vote. It can never add sound quality that the speaker didn't first produce. I.e. one can't pull blood from a stone. Unlike some at ASR will assert.

I watched a YouTube video of the designer, whom i believe is ex-B&W, showing these at a recent show in Tokyo. All analog front end.
Even over YouTube - Bluetooth - $30 Tozo earbuds, the sound was amazing.

Some of the best speakers that I have ever had the privilege to hear are MBL full set (so called "double onions"), Ancient Audio Vintage Ribbon and Zeta Zero bistereo speakers.

Half a million dollars on passive loudspeakers! Wow!! Add the Pre/power amp section for another half a mill. A super high end streamer with all the interconnects and speaker cables!! Got to be sitting around 1 and a bit million quid!
The ultimate sonic nirvana! Acoustically treated large room/hall with separate mains power conditioning! Any genre of music would sound divine!

You could always put an acoustically transparent black sock over them like a Vandersteen 2ci if you didn't like the looks.
