Another trick is to bang a screwdriver a little bit into the subfloor right in front of the board and use it as a lever to squeeze the board in.

I like the video, but I would have to disagree about the Carolina boot, my Rocky paratroopers from work worked pretty well when I did my floor

Take a sacrificial cutoff that you can use as a hammer contact point. You can beat the hell out of it and if it breaks, it's just a 8-10" chunk that you don't really need. Bang bang with the hammer chunk, while standin on the board with one foot, bang bang with the nailer. Done.
