I’ve lived in Italy for 14 years - there’s no such rule about ordering a cappuccino. I often see Italians order it even in late afternoon.

I m italian and I have been living in Italy for all my life... There is no rule about the hour to order a cappuccino... We can order it whenever we like... The only problem is that the coffee can't avoid us from sleeping if we drink it in the afternoon, and the cappuccino is a bit difficult to digest, so it's better for our stomach not to drink it too late in the afternoon :)))))

the cappuccino is not frowned upon, it's just unusual for someone to have cappuccino other than for breakfast.. but you won't be judged if you do. you will be judged if you sip on coffee or cappuccino during or between courses 😅

I grew up eating sweet meaty spaghetti with hotdogs here in the Philippines which has banana ketchup. It was a culture shock when I found out that that's not how it is originaly made and that foreigners find it disgusting lol. I made my cousins try Italian spaghetti and were weirded out by it too.
Now I'd eat either. But sweet Filipino spaghetti just hits the right spot. It every Filipino's childhood. It's home.
