factory to factory ..we always cut the shingles at 5 inch seams ... nail the cut edge of the shingle to the rake and keep going having someone precut your 5 inch stagger

I just shingled a 10x16 gambrel roof using your measuring method. Perfect stair step for my taste. My pattern drifted a bit but that's on me. Thank you for such a helpful straight forward video. I watched all kinds of videos,too many.

Overhang and cut, use pieces on next gable, factor edge against factor edge as recommended. No need to reinvent the wheel

I just started to learn how to roof. I’ve done maybe 10 in the last couple months on volunteer sites after hurricanes etc. your videos have been so helpful! My biggest issue with the stair step is how much waste I end up with. I’ll def be trying this next time.

I used your tabulated numbers for the chalk line(45,56.25,etc), and the shingles came out perfect! I also used your technique to cut the overhanging shingles on the rake and not stopping to cut each end of the course(until the end), kept my rhythm. Putting your video work to help MY work! Cheers !

We had a saw at the shop just for cutting shingle sets. We figured out how many sets we needed and could cut 10 sets within 2 min and we had beginning and ending sets. Made it nice.

If you over hang your shingles off the gable with your correct stagger on your roof and cut them flush with your starter you don’t have to cut over top of your other shingle and your cuts are always straight then you use those cuts as your as your “staircase”.. hope you understand and wish I could show you 😂🤟.. it’s exactly how you do it but your cutting flush with your starter instead of on top of your other shingle. Keep up the good work brotha

Im a remodel contractor, ive always steered away from roofing. After hurricane zeta last year I had no choice but to learn, because that's all people needed lol. Thanks to your videos, not only did I learn quickly but I also find myself enjoying it. Nowhere near as fast as you, but thanks to you I feel pretty confident in the quality.
