Me "Laughs in ADHD" Nah lectures never work I am too bored within the first 5 minutes to retain anything.
Best way to learn the science is to set up meetings with the professors and have a talk what their reasearch is about and watch them in action. Way more engaging and learn way more stuff. Lectures are 90% in one ear out of the other and notes, if no goal is set for them get lost into the paper or digital matrix never to be seen again.
I need either to be directly engaged in a person 1 on 1 or even 1 on 4 tops and have the ability to interject and interact with what I am playing with in order to actually learn and have it stick.
This method though, prep questions in advanced to ask to stay on topic in what you want to engage in. Still has work and having to prep questions in advanced takes individual learning and will also help you retain info.

I earned a BS in biology, chemistry and education in ‘90. It baffles me the way modern kids take notes in lecture (my son is at university). I’m like “how is that effective for learning?”. Maybe a little, IDK. Typing on a laptop just doesn’t make sense as an effective way to cement the information in your brain. Writing with a pen on paper does something more to engage your brain. I’m currently working on relearning German and keeping a notebook is essential. It’s actually very common advice in the language learning space to keep a paper notebook, so those folks recognize the benefits of analog notetaking.
