Everyone seemingly missing “The Declaration of War.” My personal favorite episode, the speech Willy Tiber gave was incredible and then Reiners explanation of why they broke the walls to the island. It’s just.. I can’t even with that episode. It’s beyond phenomenal, and him Reiner saying the reason they broke the walls was to see how the king would react when Marley would come and attack. And then you have Eren saying that in Reiners eyes it was for the good of the world, and that they are the same. To then explain to him that he’s been brainwashed and that was part of his training since all the people are the same. And that it must of been hard for him since it looks like Reiner in his face has already paid. And then you have him breaking down in tears to Eren for what happened. And then the final scene of Willy yelling this is a Declaration of War! To then see Eren’s Titan bash through the ground, slam down crushing the stage and whipping Willy’s dead body up into the air to eat him for “war hammer’s power” was just phenomenal. Though obviously Willy didn’t have that power, the entire episode was just beyond impactful. Especially learning about king Fritz’s ideology on war, and the vow to renounce it. And when Willy explained Fritz’s (own downfall) he created for himself, saying that all fritz wants is to live in peace since what his people did in the past could never be washed away nor forgiven. So to let him live in peace in this walled paradise until Marley would come in force to take the founder. That’s all he wanted. Like SO IMPACTFUL PEOPLE lmao, to me I can’t stress my love enough for that episode in particular since it was just really meaningful. Both to the show’s progression and in my opinion what really started the war. Anddd can also be correlated to our own lives. It was a very special episode.
