Next time, you'll run it down like Carlos Alcaraz against Medvedev at 4:4 40 to 30 first set Indian Wells final...

You didn’t hit it too him. He actually anticipated your forehand. In fact he did too good a job and over ran it and ended up hitting a backhand instead of a forehand. The real reason you lost the point was your basketball instincts took over and your first move was to jump up to hit the ball instead of taking a couple quick steps back and hitting a conventional overhead.
It wasn’t a good lob either. It was a underspin lob that landed just 2 feet beyond the service line and then sat up. The second bounce was still well inside the baseline. If you had decided not to hit a overhead and just turned around you would have easily run the ball down. I contend that a future more advanced Trey, even after jumping and missing the overhead, would still be able to run that lob down and lob the ball back after landing. Frankly future Trey might’ve looked at it as the perfect opportunity to wow the audience with his between the legs skills.
Another reason you missed the overhead was that after hitting your forehand you were still shuffling your feet when your opponent was hitting the ball. Future advanced Trey would have taken a Split Step allowing him to react more quickly and realized here was a opportunity to wow the audience with his superior basketball vertical ability. If you freeze the vid as the ball is directly above your swinging racket. You’ll see that the ball is only a ball diameter above the tip of your racket. You’ll also see that you’re only about 13-14 inches above the court about 1/3 your max vert. If you had reacted better and gathered properly you could have easily reached that lob and slam dunked it.
Hopefully someday you’ll look back at these vids and have a good laugh/cringe fest.

That wasn't bad. You jammed them. They got the ball back and over you. Take a step or two back after the split and let it bounce or swing away.

They just played a better ball.

Lobbing outside is a dream! So much space to get over EVERYONE!
