It's a tuba for me. It started with her being a baritone, then swapped to tuba so we had one during 7th grade and up. She jumps up and down in her seat with her tuba in her lap as well sometimes XD!!!

This actually made me super emotional and happy for some reason. Back in grade school, i was always the “olivia” knowing all the band trivia everyone else didn’t. Band directors would always be annoyed and fed up with me, and I could honestly not understand why they would always be upset when i called out answers. I didn’t try to be annoying; i was just too socially inept to understand what i was doing to be disruptive. I went into this video thinking “lmao i was such an annoying kid”, but hearing you say “we might have a future band director” made me feel really wholesome. I was always seen as a nuisance for being smarter/more prepared in middle school, so to hear you say that it’s not just a thing i should be ashamed of really hit home. Im in college for music now, and i think you really might be be getting Olivia as a band director soon :)

As a flutist l, I can say that flute players know everything. We are the only instrument that has everything right most of the time so we always have to sit down and listen to our director give lectures to other instruments.

I was that student! I learned so many instruments in high school, but my main instrument was oboe. I played clarinet for marching band, learned bass guitar for church, then learned 6 string guitar for fun. Learned a Penney flute for 1 song once. Learned saxaphone over the summer before college so i could play in the jazz band. I did not become a band teacher though. I also played piano- learned that in 2nd grade. So when i started band, i was slightly board waiting for peers to catch up on learning to read music. It allowed my brain to focus on embasure and getting my tone right since i already knew the notes. I learned to bring a book to band so i wouldnt be such a know it all in class like Olivia. But i remember that feeling of "why cant you remember it?!" 😂

There is an person like Olivia in my band but she uses her powers for the worse. 😭 she learns what notes from let’s say saxophone and she will change them into flute notes (UES SHE PLAYS FLITE TOO) and then she will ask people to “see” Their music and she will learn their solo or a part that just their section plays then PLAY IT IN REHEARSAL AND THEN PLAY IN THE CONCERT 😭 AHH

I played the trumpet less than a year in my middle school and I still remember that b natural is middle value. Also your videos and a few others have inspired me to start playing again, so I went out of my way and bought my own trumpet with my own money which I have now made back.

100% accurate. I’m pretty sure my
Flute players could play the percussion parts better than the percussionists.
