That’s the way to do it! My wedding dress wasn’t so cheap, but it was a huge bargain. It was a gorgeous silk and it was an Oscar de la Renta for $500. And this was 35 years ago!

For my wedding I found my dress at a vintage shop. When I saw it it was a white eyelet had black trim down the sleeves and around the waist. My seamstress mother took all of the black off, and only put a white lace around the neckline. I made a headband with flowers and some of the lace. My dress cost $2.00, the lace and flowers were another $8.00. I could not see paying a thousand dollars like my sister did and my mother talked me out of new jeans and t-shirts like I originally wanted.

I bought my wedding dress at the goodwill for about $100.00! It was from a boutique that donated it and I found with the $1,500 tag still on! It was beautiful and I felt like a princess 👸🏾 my husband cried when he saw me and totally thought I broke the bank 🏦
