Those who betrayed were the germans with their Molotov-Ribbentrop pact behind Romania's back. We owed Germany no loyalty. Even when we moved out from the alliance with Germany firstly we gave them the option to leave our teritory. They refused and we had no choice but to fight them. Italy and Finland did the same.

romenia was not a key ally, just good for oil, their army was horrible, german generals complaint bitterly about how poor the romenian soldiers were trained and had very bad equipment and no stomach to fight, they could not be trusted to hold a position and defend let alone attack...

Daring switch? Gimme a break! The Romanians, like the Italians, jumped on whichever bandwagon happened to be winning at the time. If he Russians hadn't demonstrated their superiority in the region, Romania would have stuck with the Nazis until they, or the other allies, did.
