Inside the clock, there is an electronic part called an oscillator that makes the quartz crystal vibrate at a specific speed. Think of it like a metronome keeping a steady beat. The speed of the vibrations is incredibly precise.
The vibrations from the quartz crystal are then converted into electrical pulses, like little signals. These pulses are used to count the passing seconds, minutes, and hours.
The numbers that represent the time are displayed on the clock's screen or dial, whether it's digital numbers or the hands of an analog clock.
To power the clock, it either uses batteries or is plugged into an electrical outlet.
By using the reliable vibrations of the quartz crystal, modern clocks can tell time accurately and consistently. They are designed to be efficient with energy, so the battery can last a long time or the clock can stay powered when connected to an outlet.
That's how a modern clock works in a nutshell! It's all about the steady vibrations of the quartz crystal and the counting of electrical pulses to keep track of time.

Btw there is normally no crystals and when ever there is one it is purely for decoration to add to the intrinsic design.
