Thats one of the harms caused by theism. No, not all religions have this. But theism always has such beliefs that get people into trouble in some way. Like this. So when a theist asks what harm it does to have reality defying beliefs, this is one example that can literally ruin your existance.

I met a person online who had the same convictions. I asked if they ever witnessed any of the sincerity of the the believers of the hundreds of failed predictions in recent decades. I didn't hear back. I hope that means they were able to find sense in it.
