I have my father's M1. Did a little customizing ,bedded the receiver in the wood channel. Free floated the barrel . Shoots even better now. And with my custom made hand loads.

That's a nice rifle! I never had a chance to own one, but would like to one day before they are way beyond my price range. I have been lucky enough to fire a few of them and they function and fire flawlessly when maintained.

Mine is also tough to load a clip. Strong op-rod spring and maybe grease the clip rails a bit.
