You're the only one I've found thus far who promotes actual healthy self-improvement and a quest for purpose. Thanks for saying this in a time when, by every other influencer, the ideals of hyper-masculinity at all costs have been made the sole image one should strive for in life. Let's embrace individuality and compassion for once

Yeah this realy speaks to my heart, i think that's also the biggest problem with the self improvement community right now. People presenting you with this ideal Person with only "masculine" trades that you are supposed to imitate, while self improvemt should be about being what you find to be your best self.

This is probably the best advice Iā€™ve heard from a YouTube short, thanks for that Cole!

Because itā€™s true! You donā€™t have to fit into a particular role if you donā€™t want to. As long as you are happy with yourself (with out hurting anyone) thatā€™s all it matters!

You're less of a man if you're ok with lacking in areas you have every opportunity to improve in. Not disagreeing with your message, but expanding on it. I'm naturally muscular, but I am in very poor shape on the inside and need to change that. I'm bot able to afford a house, and I need to change that. Being ok with these things would be a problem, because although I have stagnated and coped so far, it would be stupid to believe that I wouldn't be happier after achieving higher yearly income and turning my decent "looks only" muscles into bigger, truly STRONG muscles. Nobody in the world wouldn't experience some sort of improvement from getting in shape, earning more money and generally being more attractive than before.

"You want the truth? Well the truth is that they are only valuable to the degree where they dont drag the rest of us down. Hmph thought you wanted honesty"

I agree with everything except the part about family and kids. It is very important to have those.

One of the few self improvement youtubers that makes sense from a mental health care perspective. Everyone's telling people to be as productive and hypermasculine as you can be but they are being toxic by putting down others creating a delusional view that one kind of man is better than the other while people are so much more complex. Being a decent and balanced person is much more rewarding in long run. In the end life is all about happiness.

Good way to describe the common stereotype. You should make a female version of this as well.

Be very careful about what you value yourself for. Social status, wealth, sex life, and all that kind of stuff that society puts a lot of focus on, are not good foundations for self worth.

Well said!! man iā€™m so glad i found your channel. itā€™s a breath of fresh air compared to the amount of channels out there in the self improvement community that try to push those terrible ā€œmasculineā€ values and telling you that your worth is only defined by your physique and the amount of wealth you have. (and thereā€™s one in particular that says reading books is ā€œstupidā€ šŸ’€)

either way.. iā€™m very glad to have found your channel. your advice has helped me alot in helping me improve my mindset/mental health as well as making me realize that the real world out there isnā€™t as terrible in the way that social media/dating apps likes to make it out to be. (which is true, youā€™d be surprised as to how im treated better IRL compared to dating apps/social media

I feel bad for guys, they feel just as much as females but they are limited in their expressions of their emotions because of our culture.
I have pretty intense depression, I canā€™t imagine how much more that would hurt if I was a guy and not allowed to express my feelings!
Guys get hate for being masculine now too like the very act of being a guy is seen as toxic by some in this society too. Itā€™s not good. Society needs to adapt more in favor of guys!!
