I don't usually comment on these shorts, because they're usually childish and made by kids who know nothing about history, politics, or geography.

However, I am making an exception, because this is one of the best of such map shorts that I have seen!

Things I respect:

• Not letting bias of Ru–Ua war to bias you. In other shorts, you'd get ubernationalist kids who know nothing about the war either destroy/over-nerf Russia, or destroy Ukraine and give it all to Russia. I really respect that you have not let your bias destroy one and overpower the other and have done neither, having made both countries alright. Maybe you did a bit, but it's better than majority of other shorts.

• You have left the Balkans in tact. With the exception of BiH (Bosnia and Herzegovina), you have kept every unique country alive. Some people will get tempted, and get rid of Montenegro, Slovenia or even Albania, I am so glad you didn't do that. I wish you had kept Bosnia and Herzegovina alive (just give Republika Srpska to Serbia, but keep the rest in tact — at most give the Croat majority to Croatia, though that's a push), but hey you give some you loose some.

• (With the exception of BiH, N.Macedonia and nerfing Montenegro) You have kept the Balkan countries wishes, and have essentially made as many people happy as possible, which is a great achievement in the Balkans. Serbia got Republika Srpska (which is Serbian majority), Bulgaria got N.Macedonia (which has historically been Bulgarian, and its people have self-identified as such until recently, I like what you've done with Romania but will get to that later, and I'm not sure but I think you have given Kosovo to Albania (which although I understand why Serbians want it, it's Albanian majority, and considering you gave Republika Srpska ...also the majority of BiH... to Serbia, this is a fair compromise).

• I respect the fact that besides the small Balkan countries, you have kept other countries alive too, such as the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). Also I like Luxembourg, so glad you kept it alive.

• You play a game of compensation and swapping. While than nerfing/overpowering countries, you swap and compensate. You take away somewhat reasonable territories from some countries, but then you give them what they historically desire, so it's fair or to avoid over-nerfing them.

Other things I like/think are based:

• Hungary and Romania. Hungarians always complain about "being undermined" and "surrounded by themselves", so I really like that you have granted their wish to give some of their lands back. Sadly, this means giving away Translivania (historically invaded by Hungary and Hungarian influenced) and some Szekely regions (Hungarian majority). However, you have expanded and made Romania more powerful eastwards, giving them the entirety of Moldova (which let's be honest are historically Romanian, and the Romanian version of what N.Macedonia is to Bulgaria), and perhaps expanded them into Russia/Ukraine I think. I really love how you've compensated and completed their desires, rather than picking sides.

• United Ireland, independent Gealic/Celtic countries. Not sure how economically stable that is, but it's based. I would have loved if you nerfed England (just a bit) and gave a tiny more territory to Scotland and Wales, but I guess it's fair this way to not overnerf England.

• Hungary having coat of arms, idk I think it gives some vibe.

• Russia has the old flag. It's a bit sad, because it's loosing the Slavic symbolism, but I like that flag better. Also, I presume it implies that Russia is tsarist again — don't know if that'll make it better or worse, but it's sort of based, so sure.

• Expansion of Finland is neat. That may risk in nerfing it's neighbours west and east, but for now it looks okay.

• I don't know what's happening to France, but I can't say I hate it. It's just going to have to call itself "l'Hexagone, but squashedde".

• I like how you've tried to commit to the Megali Idea a bit, also in a very fair way. I find it random that you gave up Thrace (including Istanbul, former Constantinople) for west coast Turkey, which in another comment you said was a swap, but I can't say I hate it. I'm glad you haven't picked one country over the other here.

Questions I have:

• What's happening in west Cornwall and north-west coast France? Are you splitting off the Celtic regions? They are the same colour, are they united?

• Why does Germany have a dotted line through it?

• What's happening to Wales? Why is it nerfed? Are you giving some lands to England for some reasons? Is it united with Cornwall and NW France? What flag did you use for Wales?

• Is Crimea... Turkey, haha 😄?

• What's happening to Belarus? It seems to be smaller and maybe a different location, is there a reason for which I am unaware? Also why is its flag just white; was it meant to be the white-red-white flag or something else?

• Why have you/ What do the coat of arms you have included on France, Germany, and Hungary mean? I presume you're implying France is a monarchy, I'm not sure about the rest.

-----------

Anyways, usually these map shorts are bad and childish, but this is the best I've seen so far. I presume you are young as well, but you clearly have historical and geographical knowledge (hopefully the choices you made have reasoning and aren't just random), which is really great, especially if you are as young as I presume you are! May your studies go well, and you always be interest in maps
