Here is a brief session of kakedamehi 掛け試し on the beach, with my student Guilherme, who started training recently in Muidokan. Kakedameshi is the fundamental kumite exercise of the old karate, and has emphasis on short distance -- in the same way as it occurs in most self-defense situations.
