After you throw jabs, return your hand to its guard position don’t allow it to fall down to your side and don’t swing it down and then back into guard position it takes too long.
To train it into your muscle memory, my coach used to have me do drills where I would just hit the bag with my jab and return my hand back to guard.
Do it for a minute and then you’ll switch punches and throw your cross and return your cross to its guard position.
Do those two drills for two weeks and you’ll see that your hands no longer sag or dropped to your sides.
I fought professionally for 10 years, and I cannot express in words how fundamentally important mastering the basics is to any craft.
