Jesus, the only way?

Knowing about Jesus’s life, death on the cross, and His resurrection will not save you. Believing Jesus is God will not save you either. So, how is someone saved?

::: SALVATION ::::

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”” [Matt. 16:24-25]

To be saved, we must repent from our sin, and place our faith in Jesus Christ as our God, Savior, and Lord—following Him and continuing in His word [John 8:31; ct., Luke 8:15].

Jesus died in our place, taking the punishment that we deserved. God will grant forgiveness and salvation to only those who turn from themselves [repentance] and place their faith in Jesus—trusting His death as the payment for our sins [John 3:16; Romans 5:1]. Jesus says, we must be “born again,” [John 3:3] equating that to being “born of the Spirit,” [3:6]. The Holy Spirit will come to reside permanently within us at the moment of faith, as our guarantor of everlasting life [2 Cor. 1:22].
