my heart hurts to know there's a large population of owners that don't know that satisfying feeling of the disk pop of a GameCube.

That explains why a lot of Gamecube games have a worn-out center like it's been chipped at because people were just ripping the discs out lol.
I'll say this though, instead of being upset at people for not knowing this, be glad this has gotten exposure and people will now take care of their Gamecube discs so no more games continue getting damaged.

Had to show this to sooo many people when I worked at GameStop. The look never got old.

I was 6 when I got mine back in 02. I instantly noticed that the disc was locked in place. So curious young me looked at how to disengage the lock. The BRIGHT center button with the word PUSH on it and I was like, "huh." That's how I figured it out.

Its also ideal when inserting the disc to sit it on top, press the button down and place it down. I've seen quite a few cracked gamecube discs

I didn’t know this back in the day when I got a Gamcube. Was used to just ripping out the N64 cartridge 😅
