So true, I'm just reading Paul Bamford's book. As an RN it's just so improbable, it's sad for the families but the unit was taking babies that they weren't equipped to care for properly and medical cover was poor and most care given by junior doctors.

Reading about lucys younger life,she was deeply religious and at college with her friends joined a evangelical church,those who knew her at this time said she would always be at home by ten ,lucy was eighteen, when she went to work at Liverpool it was said her parents were very upset and wanted her to live at home lucy said they smothered her,one friend asked her to emigrate to new zealand with her but she said her parents couldn't cope with her being 100 miles away,how the hospitals were so awful must have dissolusioed her,but I don't this affected her mind or her ambitions now,the damming report into the the countess by the health Council singled out lucy as a very dedicated and caring nurse no one else received praise this would cause resentment amongst all staff,and I believe lucy was a whistle blower,it suited the management doctors ,health authorities and the health Secretary to have a scapegoat.

There are too many discrepancies in this whole case, for it to have been a fair trial, her legal defence was poor, the expert witness I believe was ridiculous and there is a well known reporter now implying she was framed, due to a dark element in the hospital. I have been following this closely and now believe 100% this is a miscarriage of justice.
