I was the silly old dad with a skinhead dancing my ass off at your gig in Belfast tonight. My wife left me and the kids last year and this was my first night out since then (also first gig without her as we'd been together 24 years) I drove 3 hours from County Roscommon and then 3 hours back as I'd got nobody to watch my old dog and I can't do that to him. Anyway, this is my rather circuitous route to telling you that seeing you play was absolutely worth every second and Penny saved up to go. I'm sure there are thousands of people who have travelled mucb further than I did but this just shows you how greatba band you are. I've seen all sorts, Chris Cornell in the 90s (he picked me up after I fell crowd surfing🙃), Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Flaming Lips, Wu Tang Clan, Morrissey, Johnny Marr, U2, The Cult, Public Image Limited, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey, The Pixies, Arcade Fire, Eels, Jamiroqui, Fun Lovin Criminals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Reef, Mudhoney, Moloko, Smashing Pumpkins, Henry Rollins, etc etc and your gig tonight was up there in my top gig slot. When Jon came in on drums followed by Adams bass it was truly fantastic. Lee and Mark have such a great synergy and Joe is the best ringleader. This sounds like I'm blowing smoke up your arses but it warmed my old heart knowing live music still has champions (plus you've been grinding away for years to reach this level). Enjoy a few days rest and thanks for giving me new/happy live music beginnings again. Stay cool
