Karma is a trendy word some people use nowadays in ignorance of its origin.... just like everything else, it seems.
Karma is basically a Buddhist concept (& in Hinduism too, I believe) that which believes in a case of reincarnation/rebirth, an idea of "heavenly" enlightenment & a major lack of God As a Being Of Higher Power.
Buddhism is not even a theology. Presented as a "way of life" with questionable rulings since their naturally subjective nature & is majorly athiestic (not even agnostic).
Everything still boils down to human interpretation, and an idea of "high heavens" or some "natural law" & final enlightenment. (According to the best aspect of objectivity you could wring out of it...)
So, people should at least be curious & responsible enough to learn what exactly they are speaking of. (Tjen again, there are some who believe that Islam/Muslim are English words too....🤦♀️ If only these people realise or learn how similar Christian concepts are to Hinduism... But, "when will they ever learn"?)
Buddhists don't exactly have a God in the picture, only the idea of "godly figure(s)", likely, as they do apply it anywhere they like.. They worship sometimes anything. As theology is either a close subject or an open option to them.
Subjective & each to their own...
There is no fundamental morality to the concept of Karma as it has major moral implications. There is objective morality in the similar "religions" either. Could still have the influence of paganism, like inherent evil nature attributed to humanity, inheritance of sin from another life/the next life, etc.
The doctrine itself could make a Sufi out of its follower. But just like any other "religion", it is slowly turning into a culturally signifant but outdated traditional "value", turned into a forgotten, deemed backwards uncivilzed, un-modern thing, a decoration of the modern world from some unstudies past, a nostalgia even for some... a shame, a pity, really. There's so much one could learn from it, at least to understand its believers, if only they still truely believed in it, as it is either adopted/preserved only by some monks - outwardly.... not sure of their intents though, can still have good & bad in them.
Another dying religion.
Only proves that The One Truth will be the only one that is natural, realistic, practical prevails until the "big end".....
Even the atheistic Jungle Law can't satisfy the settling of the heart, back to its true nature & purpose - its Fithra' to beat or stop to its Creator's Command.
له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض -
Verily, the truth IS very clear from falsehood

Abdullah bin Salam (former Jewish rabbi) said:
“When the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah, the people rushed to meet him, and it was said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come!’ Three times. I came with the people to see him, and when I saw his face clearly, I knew that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing I heard him say was when he said: ‘O people! Spread (the greeting of) Salam, feed others, uphold the ties of kinship, and pray during the night when people are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise with Salam.”*
