Now to the controversial part.

Stop wasting time on color grading ❗️

There, I’ve said it.

Now what do I mean by that?

I’m not saying you shouldn’t color grade or practice Color grading, but what I am saying is that you should decide whether a project is worth countless hours of color grading or not.

How you decide this is up to you.

For me personally I look at things like for what platform I’m creating a video and what the budget for that video is.

Those are valid point to consider when deciding how much time you actually spent on creating a video.

If you really enjoy color grading, then keep doing that, but if color grading isn’t a big passion of yours and you want to save some time in post production, I would suggest to use professional LUTS as a starting point.

Using LUTS as a solid foundation from which you can fine tune the final look and feel of your video is a great idea and it saves you a lot of time.
