Question: What was the first thing that inspired you in the aquarium hobby and love Aquatic Life?
As an only child I spent a lot of time alone. my parents bought a house that ran along the Broad River in Columbia, South Carolina.. I would play along the riverbank everyday....it was very common to find little hatchling musk turtles..
When I would go to pet stores .. I loved the fish but it was those baby turtles I couldn't keep my eyes off of...
I wanted one...
That was in the early seventies ... Before I could get one, they ended up being banned from the pet trade.
I still remember that feeling I got when I would see one ....
I knew from the start that caring for animals was all I wanted to do.
My wonderful grandfather was the one that helped me learn.
I still can remember the first time finding the smallest little turtle that made me fall in love!! I was six.
That was Nikki number one and I had him for over 20 years ♥️
This little guy is even more super special to me. First of all because he came from my friend Jimmy P!
Secondly because I didn't even know that you could get the stuff we get in the mail as far as fish reptiles and turtles 🤯
I have learned so much since coming into this community 3 years ago!! Thank you YouTube family for showing me all these wonderful things 😁🤣♥️ ♥️.. so Dinky 2 is also helping me teach my grandchildren how take care of the life around us.
