Fun fact, being able to Badminton Mother's ball with spirit sword is a reference to Legend of Zelda
In Phantom hourglass, there are ghosts that claim to have invented a game called 'Dead man's volley' where they shoot an energy ball, and swinging at it with your sword sends it back, until one of you drops it and gets hit by the ensuing blast.
Dead Man's volley is a common mechanic in legend of zelda games, Ganondorf in Ocarina of time does it also.
