Learn to not only hold your breath for a long time but also to stay calm underwater. Be calm when a stressful situation occurs, and then you can handle all your underwater challenges. This mindset will also become a tool for managing stressful situations up on deck.
Remember that freediving is an extreme sport, so it’s always best to start practicing with a proper, safe instructor. Push your limits slowly and never freedive alone. You can easily experience a blackout without realizing it’s happening, so always dive with a partner who knows how to perform a rescue.
