(Rescuing a puppy rummaging through trash, its skin cracked and bleeding.)
A dog rummaging through a pile of trash—its frail frame catches my eye.
I hurriedly ran toward it, and the dog, cowering in fear, cautiously sniffed the unfamiliar scent of a human.
Up close, the sight was heartbreaking. Its face was covered in severe skin disease, and ulcers seemed to have formed all over its body. The harsh weather had left its furless skin exposed to freezing and thawing, causing cracks that bled in multiple places.
It’s painful to imagine how much stinging and suffering this poor dog must have endured.
Despite being surrounded by food, it didn’t seem familiar with the scent and refused to eat. Without hesitation, I took the dog straight to the vet.
Thankfully, apart from malnutrition and the skin condition, there were no major health issues. The vet immediately shaved its fur and started treatment.
I hope this brave pup recovers quickly and regains its health soon.
