Sometimes less is more. For almost everyone technical skill is an afterthought. Even the people who like the metal bands with crazy drums probably sleep on skilled artists from other genres.
I say this as someone who likes when music is going off - but I think the true mark of talent is someone who knows when to play something simple and when to play something hard.
