No one is talking about the bond and trust they both have in each other! I have a 2 year old deaf Aussie that has boundless energy and what I learned from him is that he studies my habits and tries to anticipate what I will do next in everything I do. For example, when I bring out my laundry hamper, he will go to the washer. I use this to help me train him so I took him for walks along the same route and made him sit and wait in the same spot each time. Now when I go for runs, he'll be slightly ahead of me but he knows to wait in those spots for me and this way I know he'll stay in my view and won't venture off into traffic or something (before anyone judges me, the place we run is very quiet and it's still far enough away from the road where there isn't alot of traffic). Even if he sees something he likes or when he wants me to hurry up, he'll still stop in the same spots along the route but impatiently march in place haha. It was helpful because I don't have a verbal recall like this guy has on the bike since my little buddy is deaf. The first 8 months with him was tough but realizing that I shouldn't try to force him into my way but instead compromise what I need from him into his way of thinking made training him a piece of cake. Bond with your dog people!!

The trust that the man and dog have for each other us amazing.... It could literally be a life or death situation if one didnt listen to the other. It's beautiful training on the mans part. Not only does the nan have to be aware of the track but also around it as well.
