I’ve been buying 2nd hand clubs off eBay and having lessons, cheaper that way and doing both at the same time, just to throw a spanner in the works I am left handed as well

Go For multiple Lessons 1st before buying expensive new equipment ? keep monitoring your handicap rating - if drop 📉 your handicap rating significantly better then rewarding yourself for a brand new set custom fitted golf clubs

YEA GET FITTED USING A FAULTY SWING. Then in 6 mo you will need another set of clubs. Or, get an old set of forged irons off eBay and just have them bent to the swing you currently have.

Custom fitted is massively overrated and in many cases under performed. If the fitting is free it's probably not going to be great or unbiased.
Most golfers can't break 90 and you can break 90 without being a long hitter or a good ball striker. Believe me, I'm neither and I can do it and I've never had a club fitting.
