5 sets make the slams that much more special. Without it they are just regular tournaments in nicer stadiums. If anything I think the women should go to 5 sets too, only for the same argument, to make the slams stand out more and be another level of challenge from the rest of the tour.

For long-term fans and players of tennis, there's definitely something special about a 4+ hour, 5-set match, but it's getting increasingly difficult to attract new/younger fans to watch anything other than highlight reels now...if it means more players reach the later stages of tournaments for lack of injuries, that's also a bonus...

They should remain 5 sets as that's the standard... also prize money is extremely high... even for the first round loser !!!... - paying 3 sets for that quantity of money is not fair to other 3 set tournaments where the winner gets MUCH LESS in prize money.... some things should be left as they are....

5 sets! Leave it as it is! The Doubles games constantly being trimmed. Ticket prices will stay high, and the fans get less! And the prize money needs spreading more!👍

So yes grandslams should be 5 sets because it the ultimate challenge. People want tennis to be faster all the time perhaps enforce the rules that are in place and see like automatic shot clocks electric line calls enforce the rules that are in place and then look at the speed

I can only speak as a fan because I'm not a pro and can't speak to the effect as a player. That said, whatever happens, Grand Slams should have 5-sets, whether as a mix, like Djokovic says, or as is. It's a Grand Slam. The money is a lot more, and it has to be differentiated from the other tournaments.
I also agree that women should play 5 setters in Grand Slams because, if I were a woman, I would want winning a Grand Slam to have as much gravitas as my male counterparts.

In a perfect world, you'd have 5-setters all across the board with enough time for players to recover inbetween matches.
However, tournaments would take ages to finish and you still have the possibility of rain delays cutting into recovery time. So maybe 3 sets until the quarter- or semi-finals.
Or you do it like it's done in recreational leagues here in Germany and you substitute the last set with a champion's tie break to 10. So it's essentially 4 sets plus 20 minutes

I saw Jonny Mac suggest 4 sets and if level, settle with a Champs Tie-break, which could work for the Mens and Womens matches... personally, I love the best of 5 format.
