Ingredients
White rice - 1 cup
Cooked rice - 1/2 cup
Scraped coconut- 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Yeast - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Soaked water
☑️Take both raw rice in a large mixing bowl.
☑️Wash this multiple times to remove any dirt from the rice.
☑️Cover the rice with cold water and let it soak for 4 to 5 hours
🍽️Take a mixer grinder and add soak rice.
☑️Then add cooked rice. Leftover rice can be used in this appam
☑️ then add all other ingredients and grind well
☑️ pour the mixture into a large mixing bowl and allow it to rice overnight
☑️ if water needed add and adjust
☑️ Heat appam chatti. I prefer using nonstick appam chatti. Pour ladleful of batter in the centre.
☑️ Swirl the pan to coat the appam chatti.
☑️ Cover and cook on medium high heat till appam gets crispy.
☑️ Appam should be crispy and golden on the edges and soft fluffy in the centre.
☑️ Serve with thick coconut milk and sugar
