B as long as the part you cut isn't touching once you get the blade out. Just start over, recutting the part you already cut.
The bind happens because the grain in the uncut part wants to bow. The cut will close some, but if it closes all the way at the edge, that means theres likely still some compression happening.

How about make the drop the same height? You only get kickback when there’s a bind.
