Here you can see I'm using a standard 36V electric bicycle controller with a switched thumb throttle. This setup is powered by a standard 36V hoverboard battery, connected with a Ferraz-Shawmut 600V fuse breaker.
In total this build cost me less than $200 and has been the cheapest hub motor conversion I've built.
