You should give edinburgh a go nick. You would get a sub 2.18 I think as it's downhill for the first 5 miles then really flat after that. 😉

Houston is flat & fast too - and not many turns - but weather is variable there in January -

I have done 85 Marathons or ultramarathons.
alot of them private organized or small street or trail marathons/Ultras. Some of them with 150 or LESS Starters.
No one of them IS for Pb chasing but Always pure fun.
my absolut favorites:
Helgoland Marathon. ON Sunny days you can watch 30km and more over the northsea Düring the Race.
torTour de Ruhr 100km/100mi/230km nonstop. You need a supportCrew for that ultra. And in the Race ever Crew supportet ever Runner. Great Feeling.
And then there IS the PUM in Osnabrück. 63,3km 2400m Elevation and 3400 stairs! The finisher Shirt Stands Out at the starting Line at Berlin! When your get one of this Shirts you get a big new Family with that.
All 3 are in Germany.

London isn't necessarily fast unless you're at the front running sub 2:45, as it's very busy (Tbf, you did say "in my experience").
