Anything that floats normally will trigger a strike. I've used Zara Spooks, Jitterbugs and weedless Johnson Silver Minnows w/pork rind strip will nail' em if it's the right time of year. By now, the Largemouth Bass, even the Pike,chave moved off their spawning beds. Ive tried and tried after they've turned brown without even a follow up.

I love high country fishing in the rockies .
One day i saw a lake on my topo map that had a stream in and 1 out. Usually means its not stagnant and fish able. It was called Lily lake. No trail to it. So i followed a small stream that lead to it. Up like 2500' in elevation. Not easy when theres no trail and at 8000' to start. Finally after sweating like crazy and out of breath i got to this secret lake. THEY CALLED IT LILY LAKE BECAUSE THE ENTIRE SURFACE WAS LILY PADS! LOL COULDN'T CAST AT ALL!!!
The only cool thing was there was a weathered cabin and half of a winblock stable. It had to be over 100 yrs old. Pretty cool. Wish i had my metal detector! Be safe!😊

Texas rigged rubber worm , catch plenty of bass. If it gets caught in the lily pad , just pull steady, when the pad goes under water it will pop out .
