He’s absolutely right about the blind following, it is appalling. Netanyahu has now shown that he is willing abuse the alliance and backing he has.
Where I fear he misunderstands UK politics as that a “ripple” effecting the Labour government electorally will not help Palestine.
In the current parliament should pro Palestine MPs cause Labour issues they would be able to call on the conservatives for support.
If those agitators cause any serious political ruptures and in the unlikely event they bring down the govt or at the next election Labour lose. This would be at the hands of the Tories - an even more proIsrael party.
No. Left wing and pro Palestine MPs need to recognise they cannot possible impact govt decision making at the moment or in the short term. They also need to recognise the danger of destabilising labour and allowing the wolf of the Tories in the back door again.
They need to begin to think more strategically and be hard nosed, intelligent operators. They need to work to build long term cases for things that will bring about changes in the long term - like electoral reform.
While they do this they need to be smarter and get back into the centre of the Labour Party.
I fear they are not politically astute enough to take this approach though. They will, justifiably say “Palestinians” are dying now. But nothing they do will change that. And their currently actions risk prolonging it.
