Are people who steal, good people? When you go to work, are you honest about your time? Do you clock in when you actually started or do you not think it’s a big deal and you record your start time as when your shift is suppose to start? If so, you are stealing time. You’re a thief.

What about a man that makes all of these excuses that he’s not doing anything wrong, knowing he’s going on private lunches with a female co worker? Technically it’s just a work lunch, but you’ve been moving the goalpost further and further as your relationship moves more casual. His relationship has moved from strictly work related and now you have each other’s socials.

He knows for a fact that it’s become friendlier and there’s something there but he entertains it because he’s not doing anything wrong “technically”. He’s an adulterer at heart, because that relationship has become an emotional affair and hasn’t told his wife about his friend.

Alcohol overuse, pornography and only fans consumption, irresponsible gambling, among other things we do today that we claim are more harmless than that. All of that things above are sin because they are outside of the character of God. If your standard is this person says nice things to be and in general hasn’t been mean, then you have a very carnal and shallow interpretation of goodness lol.

None of the things I said above are elements of a “good person”. A good person doesn’t steal but is honest in ALL ways in their life. Most people just think of taking stuff from a store by hiding it in your jacket or from a sibling as stealing. You can steal time by being dishonest about it.

A good person honors their fellow man as a human being with dignity and respect. They won’t consume content that lowers another person and strips them of their human dignity and respect. Pornographic and lewd material does that. It hurts people.

What about gossips? Is there someone at work that a lot of people don’t like and while you don’t START the conversation, you do jump in and say a few thing about them. You think it’s harmless because you’re not starting the talk and only said a couple things but you participated in gossip and devalued that other person made in God’s image. It wasn’t kind. You are not a good person.


There’s TONS of things in our lives that don’t point to us as “good people”. To be good means that you have complete upstanding morals, and are righteous in all areas. None of us fit that description.

That first guy is full of baloney. All of mankind cannot be naturally good and you can see it everyday. Literally just walk out of your door and see the evidence. It’s the holiday season and famously LOTS of people are rude to retail workers and Starbucks employees. It’s very well known at this point to see clips of raging customers at stressed out workers. That’s not the mark of a “good person”.

We are not good people and we all need to be honest about that. Jesus is the only person who walked this earth and could be called good.
