Here are 4 insider tips I’d recommend in order to make delicious panna cotta:
1. I always use full cream. Even if the recipe calls for cream and whole milk or cream and half and half - just go with the full cream!
2. I recommend using whole vanilla beans to flavor the cream. Their flavor is more complex, and they’re worth the investment! Plus they can be reused; just rinse and dry them after using and pop them back into an air-tight container.
3. Although often removed from its cooling container before plating, I sometimes find it easier to serve panna cotta in its original container. And have some fun with it. I’ve used champagne coupes before, and they are so pretty!
