Given time, everything is temporary.

I think I'd feel more confident with L shapes on the bottom but it prob wouldn't fail anyway. If the wind is strong enough to tear that out of the concrete they got bigger problems than foundation issues

The posts will fail long before one of those brackets will. Much better design than setting wood posts in the ground.

The bottom three inches of the four "feet" should be turned out 90 deg. so there is more protection from uplift once in the cement.

Only thing i would do differently is to have proper foundation all around and add peace of bitumen between steel and concrete.

The roof system will fail long before that column bracket fails. In a tornado.

Makes a good bike rack.

Genuine question. Why aren’t the rebarb pieces bent out to the sides at the bottom. Wouldn’t that help with vertical uplift.

Depends on what ur asking it to do. Or if ur its dad. In the second case it will always fail in ur eyes.

Honest question: how high can those be set above the surface? I understand a lot of variables, but for a patio awning, could one be set roughly 4 inches high with the intent at some point down the road to oour a concrete slab "under" the post?

If you vibrate the concrete after set the bracket wouldn’t it help secure it?

Without knowing anything about the purpose and the conditions of the area, it's kind of hard to judge whether it will fail or not.

If you're in the same jurisdiction that I am, which in all likelihood you aren't. That set up, regardless of it's intended use, would not be up to code. As it'd need to be bound into the rebar in the poured pile.

You Need to Check the other direction. The cord is Not enough to verify that it’s “in water” we say in Germany 😂 otherwise cool shor
