#shorts These images of Pluto and Arrokoth are likely the last images we will ever see of them. It took New Horizons over 9 years to reach Pluto and a further 4 to reach Arrokoth.

No Alex, I definitely won’t live long enough, but while I’m still here, thank you for your excellent content .

I've been waiting for this for 9 years back when New Horizons was launched. I remember it was in the news. They mentioned how they were sending a space probe to take the first picture of Pluto up close. I thought it was going to be in a couple of days. I was a boy and I was into planets and all that. Then they said how it would take 9 years for the probe to reach Pluto. I was mindblowned about how far Pluto was. And so I grew up and finally they got the picture of Pluto. After waiting 9 years I got my wish. It was like a little kid's whimsical dream come true.

Nice to see a short about Pluto! Its quite sad that we might never be able to see anything get sent to Pluto in our lifetimes, but at least we have these photos!

It does kill me a little that we just happened to capture the planet as the “heart” shaped surface came out but at the right angle to hide the other half that doesn’t look as much as a heart

Kind of a bold statement to say ”ever”. Never know what the future brings, hopefully we all live long lives.

It's a wondrous time in our history. Apollo, Hubble, Voyagers, Cassini, all the various Mars lander craft and orbiters. Some of us got to witness Hale Bopp and then Shoemaker Levy 9 crash into Jupiter.
With all this, I've still just scratched the surface of what we have learned from all the satellites and probes we've sent into space. We may not get to see Pluto again soon but there is just so much more. Go James Webb go!

That is a great point. It's also the reason I was so painfully disappointed in the abysmal photo quality from the Huygens probe as it descended through the Titan atmosphere. ESA decided that a higher quantity of comically low resolution was preferred over lesser quantity of high resolution images. As a result scientists look at features captured by Huygens and still can't decipher exactly what they are looking at. I think this was a terriible decision and I fear I won't live long enough to see the good stuff.

The amount of diversity among things that are supposedly the same - terrestrial planets, moons, asteroids, stars, gas giants and beyond is incredible. I'm blown away at what different temperatures, masses and positions of seeding matter can lead to. All from Hydrogen.

Izlt would be nice if NASA invested into an Orbiter for Uranus or Neptune because they are the least visited planets and more information about their moona would be quite cool. A Mission to some of the bigger Kuiper Belt Objects would also be great
