Short answer, no. Glicked is manufactured by Hollywood to get ticket sales. Barbenheimer was organic and an internet meme that happened on it's own, which made it more exciting to be a part of

Wow, if i had a nickel for every time, a historical epic led by an Irish actor had a pop culture moment with a feminine, whimsical, and heartwaming film, I'd have 2 nickles, which isn't a lot but its weird that it happend twice right?

No because nobody cares about gladiator. Oppenheimer was star-studded. Chances are there was an actor you liked in it. It was also an interesting part of history that isn't often told from that perspective. It was an Oscar attempt of a movie, so it was likely to be done well from a film standpoint. If you like film, history or current actors, the phenomenon gave you a reason to see it. If it didn't come out the same day as barbie I would have waited til it was streaming, but it became a thing coincidentally. I'm never watching gladiator. Fist of all its a sequel so the quality is assumed to be much worse. Second, I've never seen the original. It's just not popular woth younger generations. There's no draw. Wicked and Barbie are likely drawing in similarly sized audiences. Gladiator 2 doesn't hold a candle to oppenheimer. Maybe it's a really good film, who knows, but nobody cares enough to find out.
