Okay so I see both sides. In studies addicted or not, babies thrive and kids do better not pulled apart (this is studies so again take ur judgement else where) but when addicted that mother and baby needs detox and help. My question is, did the girl know? It's really easy being on d*ugs and you don't get monthlies so it is very common, HOWEVER if she did know and still neglected any treatment - basically we have a white Chrisean Rock on our hands and in no way do I think that's okay. Foster is normal and she needs to get help and if she shows fit like so many mothers I personally know have done them all good, but it's when you truly do not know, like you only know what you know and that should be taken a lil differently because again most people addicted or not, once they know, they get help or attempt help. Regardless get help, people are there and will help you before this scenario happens!

People are too quick to assume just because a child is placed in foster care that they are going to have this marvelous life. No its fucked up people that work in the system also which is why you have more children being abused and neglected than those who went on to become adopted and placed with a nice family. Im sorry If anyone is going to screw up my child it will be me over a stranger. They could have easily kept them together and placed her in a treatment program and parenting classes but once you make a mistake due to substance abuse its like people are ignorant that people use those things to cope with there own traumas of abuse and neglect. This shouldn't mean the parent has to be punished for rest of their lifes , theres no empathy and compassion for people who have fallen to the bottom and its sad that people to think they should want to just forget they have a child and there in a better situation because of stable finances or they are drug free thats crap and don't mean nothing the person can be a lunatic but as long as it looks good on paper I guess that's all what matters right.

She is a drug addict and not fit to care for her baby. I have read many newspaper articles about babies who have died from neglect when they have been left with their addict parents! Having a baby to care for involves a lot of self sacrifice and self denial. Drug addicts are only interested in getting their next fix. If she really wants her baby back, she will go to rehab and seriously fight her addiction until she can prove she is clean and can provide a safe home for the baby.
